My name is Rhys Kearns. I'm a Canadian, Oslo-based art director and graphic designer, working across brand, design, and storytelling.
My background includes nearly eight years at Norse Projects, where I moved from design production into art direction and creative leadership, shaping brand narratives, defining visual systems, and leading multidisciplinary teams. I'm currently Creative Director at Røros Tweed, an 86-year-old family-run Norwegian textile company based in Oslo and Røros.
What drives my work is a belief that design is a form of communication before decoration — I'm interested in how visual language creates meaning, how products carry identity, and how brands earn cultural relevance over time.
Alongside client work, I initiate and develop independent projects. I co-authored and designed Sketches of Seating and Sketches of Lighting, publications exploring how designers think through ideating.
